BSU Police Announce Road Closures for BSU’s Class of 2017 Commencement Activities.
ROAD CLOSURE DETAILS:
5-11-17, Graduate Commencement, 4:00pm-End.
Summer Street @ Park Terrace
Summer Street @ Park Ave.
School Street @ Central Square
Grove Street @ Cedar Street
Road Closures will take place on 5-13-17, Undergraduate Commencement, 7:00am-End.
Traffic Updates will be provided by University Police on Twitter at: #BSUGrad17
SECURITY PRECAUTIONS DURING COMMENCEMENT
Although Bridgewater State University does not anticipate any security problems during Commencement, public venues throughout the country are increasing security in light of recent events, and the university must take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and security of all students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Please observe the following restrictions for all Commencement activities on the BSU campus:
No backpacks, bags, oversized handbags or packages larger than a cubic foot – 12 inches by 12 inches by 12 inches – will be allowed under the Commencement tent or in any Commencement viewing area, except in cases of medical need.
Inspections of bags might be required as you enter into Commencement venues. Please Note: For all commencement ceremonies, there will not be seating available outside of the tent, all seating will be ticketed.
PLANNING YOUR VISIT
Commencement ceremonies for BSU’s Class of 2017 begin with the College of Graduate Studies on Thursday, May 11, at 6:30 PM followed by two undergraduate ceremonies on Saturday, May 13, at 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
To assist in planning your travel to campus a schedule is provided for each ceremony. It is recommended that you plan your arrival on campus around the access time to ceremony locations. Guests coming to campus for the undergraduate afternoon ceremony on Saturday should plan to arrive no earlier than 1:15 PM to avoid traffic delays from the morning undergraduate ceremony.
Once on campus, police officers and campus signage will direct you to open parking lots. Shuttle buses will service all parking lots.
PARKING AND SHUTTLE SERVICES
Guest and student parking will be permitted in the parking lots highlighted on the campus map. All parking lots have handicap parking. Guests who complete a Disability Request Form will be contacted by staff with more information on parking.

Shuttle bus services will run prior to the ceremony and immediately following the program and reception.
Master's/CAGS Ceremony: 4:45-7:00 PM
Morning Ceremony: 7:15-9:30 AM
Afternoon Ceremony: 1:15-3:30 PM
